All human life is of immeasurable worth

One warm June afternoon in Paris, France, I stepped into this behemoth — St. Eustache Church

When I walked in, I couldn’t help but hear organ music bouncing off the walls. Walking toward the music, I saw a petite Asian woman sitting at the organ’s keyboard.

When I sat for a few minutes to listen, I began reflecting on earlier in the day walking the streets of Paris. Some of those reflections made it into my Sunday religion column for the July 14, 2019 edition of the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette. As you will read, while sitting in the enormous church building in Paris I got reminded of something I think I have known for a long time, but it was good to be reminded.
