Thousands have gathered in recent days to remember one of the great horrors of history and the liberation of the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz. When I was a sophomore in high school I read a book about Auschwitz and learned about the holocaust and the World War II genocide of European Jews. I still remember the little couch in my bedroom where I sat, reading the book. I read in absolute silence, wondering about the the utter horror of what had taken place. I had no words then; I have no words now.
