James 3:17
New International Version (NIV)
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Writer Ken Sande says that “God’s wisdom is primarily relational, not informational.”
I’ve been noticing that the vast majority of the Bible’s teachings on wisdom are presented in the context of how people relate to God and to one another, like James 3:17. Biblical wisdom is not a set of facts or principles that we ponder in the abstract.
No, it is a set of character and behavioral qualities that God calls us to live out every day as we draw on his grace.
