Please remove your hats as we wait at the red light outside the famous Lambeau Field |
Since I am guy who needs lots of inspiration, I decided to drive the 400 miles north of where I live and and drive around the famous Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay is still in it — playing the Atlanta Hawks this weekend — so I thought now is the time to make my trek. The pictures from outside the stadium were taken as I drove along the famous Lombardi Boulevard.
My goodness, it has been so worth it. Here’s one simple example. I don’t know else to say this, but I have not had a quiet time like I had today here in Green Bay today for probably 20 years. I sat in my little gray Hyundai outside Lambeau Field and read the Bible. Imagine it.
Words are failing me. It was awesome. The statue in the picture below picture is of Vince Lombardi, the famous coach of the Packers in the 1960s. One of my favorite Bible, I mean, Lombardi quotes came to mind as I looked into the eyes of his statue: “Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.” Yeah, baby. That’s what I’m talking about. Everybody on the ground. Now! 20 Push ups. Ready, begin!
Even here in the mall from where I am posting this, everything is green and yellow. I can think of only one word: Wow…
Okay, very funny. …
I am actually here to meet a Vineyard pastor. I am meeting him for lunch down the street from Lambeau. I will say that I am pulling for the Packers over the Falcons, though. 🙂
