The drive for self-preservaton

Self-preservation John Maxwell says 3 things drive self-preservation …

1.  Fear of change.  Change is inevitable.   It can drive us forward or freeze us in our tracks.

2.  No desire to grow.  If you are a leader, it becomes easy to cling to position and not merit.  Learning new skills and breaking up our routine is hard.

3.  Loss of confidence.   Those who lose confidence fear being exposed.  But when we lose confidence and start holding others at arm's length,  we actually minimize the extent of our own influence.

"Fill us with courage today, Lord.  You are our light and our salvation.  Of whom shall we be afraid?  Lord you are the stronghold of our lives — of whom shall we fear?"
