(Romans 12:8).
Of course it doesn’t all depend on us, does it? There are all kinds of people within the sphere of your life with whom you are in contact every single day.
I think the best response to this verse is to follow Christ’s example — who humbled himself and was obedient until his death (Philippians 2:5-11) — by extending to others the same humility, grace and kindness that Jesus has shown us.
The only response you can control in any given situation is your own. I think by asking 3 questions we can determined whether we have made our best efforts to live at peace with everyone, if possible and as far as it depends on me:
Have I surrendered this issue to the Lord and am I seeking Him?
Have I examined my heart, thoughts and actions?
Have I exhausted all reasonable methods to humbly connect with the other person and confess my role in the issue?
