A older woman going through a hard time said to me recently, “Well, we know God never gives us more than we can handle. Right?”
“Nope,” I responded. “God usually gives us much more than we can handle. I don’t know who started the phrase ‘God never gives us more than we can handle,’ but I don’t like it. Sounds more like a lie from the evil one than something God would say.”
“Hmm…” she said.
