One said to the other, “If you had one do over in your life, what would it be?
The person across the table said, “Hmm…” After 5 seconds of silence came the answer with these 3 additional words: “I don’t know.”
“I don’t know either,” said the person who asked the question.
Their conversation moved on. I sat there thinking, “Wow. Now that’s a question … one do over. What would it be? For so many people it’s such a loaded question.”
Apparently the question was too hot for the two sitting in the booth next to me, too. They turned their discussion to parking meters. From the tone of the voices, I sensed the vale of uncertainty lift.
I smiled, knowing I probably would have done the same thing.
