Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Deliberately choosing to pray with thanksgiving (with a heart of gratitude) is one of the best ways to stand against the tremendous barrage of fear and negativity that relentlessly tries to invade our heart and mind.
Consistently giving thanks and being grateful is probably the number one indicator of happiness — period. Truly, the happiest people in the world are those who are the most grateful.
It really is true that your thoughts become your words; your words become your actions; your actions become your habits; your habits become your character; and your character becomes your destiny.
So today, how about nipping your negativity in the bud by choosing to be grateful as you pray and think and go about your day? The result will be that the peace of God guard both your heart and your mind securely in Jesus.
