Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart!

During Advent it is wise to sit quietly and ponder the three-fold coming of Christ…

—–

John 1:14

New International Version (NIV)

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Revelation 3:20

New International Version (NIV)
20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Revelation 22:20

New International Version (NIV)

20 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

—–

* Jesus came to the stable in Bethlehem. And we celebrate.

* Today he stands knocking at the door of our hearts.  Knocking, knocking, knocking.  Will we open the door?

* Finally, and soon, Jesus will be the triumphant Lord of Revelation who will return to claim his own when the whole of history reaches its final consummation! And thus we pray: “Come Lord Jesus!”

What evidences are there in your life of the constant coming of Christ in your life this year?  And what do you want to ask him for in the coming weeks, leading up to Christmas?  For health?  For strength?  For abundant life?  For courage to face a conflict?

“Father in heaven, increase our longing for Christ our Savior. Give us the strength to grow in love. Fill our hearts with rejoicing as we look for his constant presence and welcome the light of his truth.”
