Thinking about what you and God are doing together (September 20-21)…

My friend Pastor John Piippo is coming to my city Champaign-Urbana, IL, to speak on prayer September 20-21.  Here are a few words from John’s outstanding blog this morning:

To work with purpose in life is to co-labor with God and his purposes. Here we are at the heart of true prayer, which is: talking with God about what we (God and I) are doing together. I want to come to the end of my life knowing God has worked through me to accomplish his desires. That is not only good, but a byproduct is therapy for the soul.

And here is the announcement for the event that just went out to about 100 pastors in East-Central Illinois...

 —–
Welcome-back-to-School greetings from Don Follis (Pastor-to-Pastor Initiatives) and Joe Thomas (Urbana Theological Seminary):

As we begin a new school year, Pastor-to-Pastor Initiatives & Urbana Theological Seminary is honored to team together to bring Pastor John Piippo to East-Central Illinois September 20-21.  The poster below explains the two-day Abiding in Christ seminar to be held at Stone Creek Church in Urbana.  Be sure and mark your calendars…TODAY, as we feel this will be an outstanding opportunity for you and your leaders.
Piippo has posted to his blog (johnpiippo.com) 3,600 times, mostly short, thoughtful exhortations about abiding in Christ.
 Here’s a paragraph from Piippo’s post for August 16, 2013:
At the top of the list of things I am praying for is: to love as Jesus loves. I want a heart that even loves my enemies. And yes, as this prayer is answered and my heart is morphed and molded into Jesus’ heart, I will benefit. I will become a free person, because only a free person can love their enemies.
Please forward this exciting opportunity to your church leaders, small group leaders and ministry colleagues.

Sincerely,

Don Follis (donfollis@gmail.com) and Joe Thomas (joethomas@urbanaseminary.org)
