7:15am in Beaver Lake, Minnesota. Sun coming up over Lake Superior at the home of Gerry Cheney, where I am staying. Gerry and Shelley Cheney are pastors of the Bay Area Vineyard Church in Silver Bay, Minnesota, which is 3 miles north of Beaver Bay.
It’s 6 degrees this morning with a pretty good wind.. That’s cold. It’s very quiet. I can hear the waves hitting the shore. I am 40 miles north of Duluth. That’s all to say I am about 700 miles north of where I live in Champaign-Urbana, IL. This is 150 miles south of Canada. When I get to the top of the hill here in Beaver Bay and peer real hard into the north, I can see the north pole. 🙂
