Judge correctly

Judging others  Earlier this week my New Testament reading was from John 7:1-24.  We learn that it was time for the Jewish Festival of Shelters.  We also learn that Jesus wanted to stay out of Judea because the Jewish leaders were plotting to kill him. We read that even his own brothers didn't believe him at this point.  Jesus' brothers left for the festival.  Finally, Jesus, too, went to the festival, though secretly, staying out of public view.  He went up to the temple where he began teaching.

He said his teaching came from God.  He said people were improperly judging him, claiming that he was demon possessed.  And then in verse 24 he said, "Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly."

I felt God's Spirit spoke to me when I read the passage and said, "This is the verse for today.  Write it down in your journal and meditate on it."  I did and have been meditating on it since.

Who is it I am judging unfairly?  Who do you know that it's easy for you to judge?  Maybe now is the time to stop judging and look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.
