On Monday I was standing on the Northwestern College campus in Roseville, Minnesota. Specifically, I was standing along Lake Johanna, looking at the ice fishermen out on the lake.
Suddenly I heard God’s voice in my mind. "Don, you don’t know squat." It was clear as a bell.
"You’re right," I said. "You’re absolutely right."
And then two thoughts from Scripture came to mind:
"When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers — the moon and the stars you set in place — what are people that you should think about them, mere mortals that you should care for them?" Psalm 8:4
"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9
Yes! Yes! I love that, Don! God says, "You don't know squat!" Job 39 through 41 are good too. There God really beats it into our heads!
