Listening and accepting the inner voice of God’s Spirit

The Scottish minister and missionary Mystery Oswald Chambers is most famous for his devotional called My Utmost For His Highest

In one entry he says that as long as we are in this physical body there will be disturbing, confusing, unsettling questions that we do not understand.

But if we humble ourselves before God, and we are receptive to the inner voice of God's Spirit, we will come to understand that God is accomplishing his will.  As we listen to God's voice, issues that once kept us from God will finally melt away and bring us together.

It is not easy for any of us to leave the outcome of our lives to God, to embrace and live with mystery.

"I had only heard about you before," writes Job. "but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."
