Among the places you can see on-going conflict between the forces of light and darkness in our world, none comes to the map today more starkly than the state of Assam in Northeast India. The missionaries, church planters and churches involved with the Gospel for Asia Ministry are having their very lives threatened by those who control the underworld the of the Assam State. The threat is that unless a large sum of money is paid, killings will start in the next few days.
The president of the Gospel for Asia K.P. Yohannan gives this stirring and sobering update in a message very recently posted on the ministry website.
Here’s the truth, men and women. "We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one." [I John 5:19] But equally do we believe the words of Jesus our Lord. "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." [John 16:33]
Pray for your brothers and sisters in India, friends. Pray with faith, knowing full well that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
