This week I’m up in Elk Rapids, Michigan, a small town 20 miles north of Traverse City and along the east side of Grand Traverse Bay. This is one of those old fishing and logging towns that happens to be dotted with several churches that are nearly 100 years old. It’s fun to go exploring.
Here’s a prayer I came across that I used this morning as I prayed for our Vineyard pastors and congregation:
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect gift: Send down upon our pastors, and upon the congregation committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy grace; and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honor of our Advocate and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.”
I think it’s a lovely prayer and reminds me that daily you and I need to be praying for our Vineyard staff and the entire Vineyard community of faith in East Central Illinois.
