Our posture before the Lord

Sitting in the Lord’s presence this morning I have two prayers and one thought from Jesus…

1.  From 16th century priest Francois Fenelon:  “Lord, I know not what I should ask of you.  You know what I need.  I simply present myself before you.  I open my heart to you.  Behold my needs which I know not myself.  Smite, or heal; drepress me, or raise me up.  I adore all your purposes without knowing them.  I am silent.  I offer myself in sacrifice.  I yield myself to you.  I would have no other desire than to accomplish your will.  Teach me to pray.  Pray yourself in me.

2.  “O Lord, my heart is not proud
nor haughty my eyes.
I have not gone after things too great
nor marvels beyond me.
Truly I have set my soul
in silence and peace.
Like a weaned child who no longer cries for its milk
like a weaned child is my soul within me. … Psalm 131

3.  “Unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.”  … Jesus
